As the founder, I am excited to announce the release of the Ladies in Camo website. This is a dream that has come to fruition for myself and to have the opportunity to be a part of it with several women that I have met through this journey is just amazing and humbling. HERE IT IS!! This hunt is an awesome opportunity for you to enjoy a weekend hog hunting with other women at a nice lodge in beautiful southeast Alabama at a fantastic discounted price. This hunt will be for a maximum of 10 hunters and will fill quickly, so book your hunt early. You will be hunting hogs on 3,000 acres of agricultural land, pine plantations and river bottoms. No harvest limits or size restrictions. All box and tree stands are already placed in prime hunting spots. The weapon will be hunter’s choice. This will not be a night hunt—however, we will have a night hog hunt on a nuisance permit in May 2012.

The outfitter has extremely discounted the price of this hunt. The fee for this hunt is $300.00 per hunter; which includes lodging, meals, and transportation to and from your stand. Come hunt the Alabama RUT with Mountain View Plantation, in Clay County, Alabama. 1 Buck and 1 Doe can be harvested on this hunt. Mature bucks only; no button bucks, spikes or small-racked deer with less than a 15″ spread. This hunt is limited so book early. Please see IMPORTANT information below on how to secure your spot.

A buck captured on deer cam at Mountain View Plantation on September 14th; the outfitter coined him "Bama BoBo". It is good to see that 9 years of strict deer management is paying off.

Lodging:
Hunters will stay in the Mountain View Plantation lodge. Meals will be provided: continental breakfast, light lunch, a hearty dinner and snacks and drinks provided throughout the hunt.

The hunt:
Hunting will be from ladder stands, lock-ons and box stands. The property is heavily managed and monitored with game cameras, by owner and/or guides. This is a rifle hunt; however compound bows or crossbows that meet the Alabama regulations can be used. Your best success rate will be with a rifle.
Hunters will arrive before noon on the first day of their hunt and hunt as outlined in Date section above. All hunters will depart Sunday around noon.
We will have a quail shoot on Saturday which is included in the price of your hunt.

Guide:
The guides will not actually be guiding hunters in the field; however, the guides will insure that the hunters get to and from stands safely.

Cost:
The cost for the hunt for Friday through Sunday is $650 per hunter; discounted from the regular price is $500 per day. The cost for the hunt for Thursday through Sunday is $1,000 per hunter; discounted from the regular price is $500 per day. There are no hidden costs; transportation to stands, meals, lodging, skinning and quartering of game are included in the cost. NO TROPHY FEES. Suggested items to bring:
A safety harness. Required to be worn at all times in elevated stand.
Safety orange hat or vest is required while on the ground. These can be taken off while in elevated stands.
Alabama’s temperatures in January can be somewhat unpredictable, however it is normally mild to cold, if compared to most states during the month of January. It is recommended to bring lightweight hunting clothes and some layers; just in case.
Bring a cooler to carry home quartered game.

Hunters will arrive at their leisure on Wednesday. We will hunt Wednesday afternoon, Thursday, Friday and Saturday morning and afternoon and Sunday morning; eight hunts total. Hunters will depart Sunday around noon

The guides will not actually be guiding hunters in the field; however, the guides will insure that the hunters get to and from stands safely.

RESERVE YOUR SPOT QUICKLY ON THIS TRIP…

Ladies Bowfishing Trip with Scale Damage Bowfishing, Buras, Louisiana

NO EXPERIENCE OR EQUIPMENT NECESSARY. This is a bowfishing trip in the bayous of Southern Louisiana with SCALE DAMAGE BOWFISHING, Captain Josh Galt on a 22′ x 9′ super-sized air boat with a 450 horsepower engine.

We will be bowfishing for game fish, these are fish you can actually eat. Our target fish will be Red Fish, Sheepshead and Black Drum. Occasional fish are Speckle Trout and Flounder. We may even have chances to shoot at Spotted Garfish, Alligator Garfish or Carp.

LIMITED TO 6 WOMEN. If we have enough interest, we will book a second trip on Friday, September 9th.

Date:
September 10, 2011
Arrive by 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As a group, we will go to a local restaurant for dinner around 5 p.m. After dinner we will go to the dock where we will launch shortly after sunset in Buras, Louisiana. The trip will last anywhere from 4 to 5 hours and then we will return to clean fish. Fish cleaning is also available at a reasonable fee.

Outfitter/Guide:
Your guide throughout your bowfishing adventure, Captain Josh Galt, has over 10 years fishing & guiding experience. Born and raised in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana, Captain Josh knows the lakes and bayous of Plaquemines Parish about as good as any lifelong resident from the area. So you can guarantee, if there is fish to be found, Captain Josh knows where to find them! He has formerly fished under Captain Rodney Boudreaux. Scale Damage Bowfishing is a fully licensed & insured business.

Location:
Lodging will be located in Port Sulphur, Louisiana. We will leave/return for our trip in Buras, Louisiana.

Cost:
The fee for this trip is $165.00 per person and lodging will be an extra $50 for Saturday night. Meals will be on our own.
Fish cleaning service is available at the dock when we return from the trip for a reasonable fee.

License:
The required license is a Louisiana Resident or Non-resident Saltwater Fishing License. You may purchase a Louisiana Resident or Non-Resident Charter Passenger 3 day license online at http://www.wlf.louisiana.gov/. This license is approximately $10.

Equipment needed:
All equipment for bowfishing will be supplied.
Bring snacks and drinks for the trip
Casual/Comfortable light clothing
Rain gear-just in case
flip-flops, deck shoes or crocs
Bug Spray
Personal toiletries (towels and wash cloths will be supplied)
Large cooler to take your fish home (100 Qt recommended)

THIS HUNT WAS SO MUCH FUN THE FIRST TIME, WE HAVE HAD SEVERAL LADIES ASK ABOUT A SECOND HUNT.

If you are a predator hunter and want to hunt coyotes, you can do so at no additional cost. Hunters will stay together in the spacious Mountain View Plantation Lodge. Meals will be provided. For photos, see the MVP website or my blog entry from my last trip there. Hunters will arrive on Friday by noon and settle into their rooms and prepare to hunt Friday afternoon.

The hunt:
Hunting will be from stands over active areas and acorns that have been monitored with game cameras or by owner/guides. This is a bow hunt; compound bow or crossbows that meet the Alabama regulations.

We will hunt Friday afternoon, Saturday morning and afternoon and Sunday morning and afternoon; five hunts total. Buck, Doe, coyote and bobcat may be harvested. Mature bucks only to be harvested; no button bucks, spikes or small racked deer with less than a 14″ spread.

Hunters will depart Sunday evening or you may choose to stay over and leave Monday morning at no additional charge. For those flying in, Mountain View Plantation is located 1 1/2 hours from the Birmingham, Alabama airport or 1 1/2 hours from the Atlanta, Georgia airport. You will need to rent a car to drive to MVP. The address is as follows:

Guide:
The guides will not actually be guiding hunters in the field; however, the guides will insure that the hunters get to and from stands safely.

Cost:
The cost for this hunt is $300 per hunter. (Discounted from the regular price is $900) There are no hidden costs; transportation to stands, meals, and lodging are included in the cost. This fee does not include your non-resident license, see below.

IMPORTANT: A $150 non-refundable deposit must be received no later than July 15, 2011; deposit must be received to secure your spot–first come, first serve. Please email me for mailing instructions at guruhuntress@centurytel.net.

License:
The cost of a non-resident license is $120 (All Game, 3-day trip) and can be purchased online at Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources website. Please make sure to insert the correct dates of 10/21/11 thru 10/23/11 when applying for the 3-day license.

Suggested items to bring:
A safety harness. Required to be worn at all times in the stand.
Alabama’s temperatures in October can be somewhat unpredictable, however it is normally pretty warm, if not HOT during the month of October. It is recommended to bring lightweight hunting clothes and some layers just in case.
Bring a cooler to carry home quartered deer.
Rain gear.
Bring a shotgun and light target loads for the Five Stand. If you do not wish to bring your personal shotguns, several will be available as loaners.

You may bring and consume alcoholic beverages if you wish to do so; however please reserve the consumption of alcohol for the evening or after the days hunt. For safety and liability reasons, anyone drinking alcohol during the day prior to the hunt will not be allowed to hunt that evening. Drink responsibly.

This hunt is not affiliated with any group, magazine, or sponsor and is a HUNT, not an EVENT with silent auction, games and raffles—no frou-frou here—just an actual hunt. I am not a booking agent, guide or outfitter; I am simply organizing this hunt for other women who would like to participate in a bow hunt with other women with like interests.

Hog hunting options: No season
Unguided/Economical Hunts:
1. FREE HOG HUNTING during the months of May, June, July, and August (I will make the same deal in October) with unlimited hogs. You pay for your accommodations and have access to the hog hunting areas. This will be a non guided, non baited no frill hunt. Pay for your *meals/lodging $125 per person per day. *Basic meals include: snacks, breakfast/ dinner prepared for you to warm up at your convenience.

2. Pay for your *meals/lodging $175 per person per day. *This meal package includes: snacks, hot country breakfast and a hot late afternoon dinner. Requires a minimum of 4 hunters.

Semi-guided Hunts: These are our regular packages, and are more hands on with the guides, etc.
3. Basic Package: The fee for a 2 1/2 day semi guided, unlimited hog hunt, 3 nights lodging, excluding meals is $550.00 per person. No minimum number of hunters. We bait up areas for these types of hunt prior to arrival and also each day of the hunt.

4. All Inclusive Packages: 2 1/2 day semi- guided, unlimited hog hunt, 3 nights lodging including meals is $625.00 per person. 4 hunters minimum. Daily rates are $250per day. In October javelina hunting is available: limit 2-bow only

Dove Hunting options: Season September 1-October 30
(I am working on a special price for a mid-day/afternoon dove hunt that can be done in conjunction with a hog or deer hunt.)
1. Executive Package-2 ½ day dove hunt, meals and lodging. $550 per person. We can book the Main Lodge for groups of 20+.

2. Economy Package-2 ½ day dove hunt, and lodging. No meals $425 per person.

Archery Only Deer: Season October 3-November 6
Management Deer Hunt 2 days all inclusive management package includes 3 nights lodging, meals, harvest 1 cull buck or doe and hog $575 per person archery only.
